- ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆As an out of towner from a large city, I expected much less in a town the size of Merkel, TX. However I was pleasingly surprised with the care and concern for the families wishes and respect by Mr. Clay. I know he had several back to back funerals this past weekend, but he managed to deliver everything he promised. The only reason he didn't receive 5 stars was due to the size of the current funeral home. However, I understand he is expanding and will provide even better bereavement services.
